Sample Itinerary:

Day 1 /Beijing
Depart from home and arrive in Beijing, the first stop of your wonderful tour in China. It is a unique representation of the past and future of China, a country with 5,000 years' history.

Day 2 Beijing
We meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel in downtown.

Day 3 Beijing (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you'll visit Tiananmen Square, with a total area of 440,000 square meters, which boasts the largest of its kind in the center of Beijing. Then you will enter the Forbidden City, the home of Chinese Emperors for more than 500 years. It is the place to go if you want to see the most complete and best-preserved collection of ancient buildings and historical treasures in China. After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven, which has been called "the noblest example of religious architecture in the whole of China". In the evening, attend a welcome banquet featuring Beijing Roast Duck, specially prepared for you!

Day 4 Beijing (B/L/D)
The highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall at "Badaling". As the old Chinese saying tells: "No one is a real man unless he has climbed the Great Wall". You can enjoy the dramatic vistas and marvel at the Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges and narrow valleys. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs, built from 1409 A.D. -1644 A.D, where 13 emperors of the Ming (1368-1644) and their empresses and concubines were buried. In the evening, enjoy the Peking Opera, a national treasure with a history of 200 years.

Day 5 Beijing/Taiyuan (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit the Summer Palace, which encompasses Longevity Hill (Wanshoushan) and a series of palaces, pavilions, terraces and covered walks strung out along the northern shore of Kunming Lake. In order to avoid the intense heat of the summer in Beijing, the imperial court used to leave the Forbidden City and stay in this specially built resort. After taking a visit to the Yonghe Gong Lama Temple, transfer to the airport and fly to Taiyuan. Check in the hotel upon arrival.

Day 6 Mt.Wutai( B/L/D)
Drive to Mt. Wutai, 240 kilometers from the provincial capital of Taiyuan. Wutai Mountain has the longest and most prestigious history in the four well-known Buddhist holy lands and the only mountain where both Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Lamaism are practiced. For hundreds of years, Wutai Mountain has been China's most sacred Buddhist ground. Today, 47 of the ancient temples are still in good condition. With a history of 1,200 years, the main hall of the Nanchan Temple on the mountain, which houses 17 painted figurines, is the earliest wooden structure of its kind preserved in China today. The Big White Pagoda for Buddha's Sarira, the symbol of the Mt. Wutai, is said to be built there before the Emperor Mingdi of the Eastern Han dynasty. Spend overnight in the Mountain.

Day 7 Taiyuan/Chengdu (B/L/D)
Drive back to Taiyuan and take the flight to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Check in the hotel.

Day 8 Chengdu-Leshan-Mt. Emei (B/L/D)
After breakfast, take a car to Leshan an transfer to the hotel. Proceed on a visit to the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest stone sculpture of Buddha in the world, sitting at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers. According to records, the carving of this giant Buddha was begun in the in the first year of the reign of the Tang Emperor Tang Xuanzong (713 AD), and completed in the 19th year of Emperor Dezong (803 AD), a total of 90 years. Looking dignified and solemn, the Buddha measures 71 meters in height, and is therefore the tallest Buddha in the world and it was added to the World Natural and Cultural Heritage List in 1996. Then transferred to the Emei Mountain, one of the four sacred Buddhist Mountains in China. There are more than one hundred temples and monasteries built on the mountain. There are rich in natural and cultural heritage, Mt. Emei is hence featured by "Kingdom of Plants"," Paradise of Animals"," Geological Museum", "Buddhist Celestial Mountain". To visit the Golden Summit Temple, you will climb to the highest peak via a grueling, straightforward ascent up a wide and sturdy path. You may encounter some old pilgrims and even some wild monkeys bringing surprises to you. Stay at the mountain overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 9 Mt. Emei- Chengdu/Huangshan
Drive back to Chengdu and take the flight to Huangshan in Anhui Province. Transfer to Mt. Jiuhua and check in the hotel at the mountain.

Day 10 Mt.Jiuhua (B/L/D)
Mt. Jiuhua has been established as one of the four most important Buddhist Mountains and is well-known as "the most picturesque mountain in the southeast China". The 100 km2 area is full of ridges and peaks, exotic-shaped stones, gushing fountains, roaring waterfalls, and clear streams. Birds accompany the beating of bell and drum. "Huacheng Temple" is the oldest temples on the mountain. Precious sutras and other cultural relics in Huacheng and other temples are on display in the Historical Relics Museum of the Jiuhua Mountain. In the "Corporeal Body Hall" of Wannian Temple is the mummy of Monk Wu Xia, wearing a lotus-flower-shaped crown and a vermilion "kasaya," and is still well preserved after more than 350 years. Overnight in the Mountain.

Day 11 Mt. Jiuhua/Shanghai (B/L/D)
Drive back to Shanghai. Arrive in Shanghai in the afternoon and take a visit to the Bund, which is regarded a landmark as well as the birthplace of Shanghai. With a length of 1 km, the bund is dotted with various grandiose solid buildings of western style dating back to the early this century in its west, while east of the bund is a new developing Shanghai. It is really a fantastic feeling to see "yesterday" and "tomorrow" on each side of the river. In the evening, take a visit to Oriental TV tower.

Day 12 Shanghai/Mt. Putuo (B/L/D)
In the morning, take boat to the famous excursion centers on Putuo include strange caves, vast seas, charming scenery, ancient temples and palaces of jade, such as the Awakening of Spring at Plum Bay, the Magnificent Cloudy Peak, the Echoes in the Twin Caves and Moonlit Night by the Lotus Pond. The other famous views include the Thousand-Step Sand Beach, Hundred-Step Sand Beach, Massive Rock, Two Tortoises Rock, Cave of Buddhist Sounds, Cave of Tidal Sounds and Sun-Facing Cave.

Day 13 Mt. Putuo-Shanghai (B/L/D)
Take the ship back to Shanghai. to visit Jade Buddha Temple, which keeps the jade Buddha statues brought from Burma to Shanghai. One jade Buddha, which is 1.9m tall and 1.34m wide, inlaid with diamonds and agates, is sitting leisurely at the moment of his enlightenment. And in a hall on the western part of the temple grounds lies a 96-cm-long recumbent jade Buddha. Both these two Buddha statues were carved out of a single piece of white jade! Then visit the Longhua Temple with famous Longhua Pagoda. Longhua Temple, first built in 242 A.D during the Three Kingdoms Period, is the biggest and oldest temple in Shanghai. Overnight in Shanghai.

Day 14 Shanghai/ (B)
Today you will see the most prosperous part of Shanghai, Pudong New Area - the head of China's modernization. The highlight in Pudong is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with a giddy height of 468 meters, which is the world's third tallest TV tower. The two rivers and the Oriental Pearl Tower are analogized by people as "two dragons playing with a pearl". See off at the airport.
