Day 01  /ShanghaiMonday
Upon arrival into Shanghai, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 02 Shanghai
Morning tour to the Bund, a popular promenade along the Huangpu River, where the old meets the modern in Shanghai, then to the Old Town with its winding alleyways, lined with shops, tea houses and restaurants, and to the elegant and tranquil Yu Garden. Afternoon at leisure. (B/L) 

Day 03 Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai
In the morning, travel by coach to Suzhou, a small town famous for its classic gardens in the south of China and often so called Oriental Venice. You will visit the Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill, Embroidery Research Institute, and take a short cruise on the Grand Canal dug 1,000 year ago in Sui Dynasty. Return to Shanghai. (B/L/D)

Day 04 Shanghai/Yangtze Cruise
Morning at leisure. Transfer from downtown Shanghai to Yangzhou dock for 10:00 pm. Embark at Yangzhou on your Victoria Cruise.
(For those using Victoria's transfer, depart downtown Shanghai at 5:00pm.) In 2006, beginning with the May 4th sailing, we will sail from downtown Shanghai. (B)

Day 05 Yangtze River –Nanjing
Full day tour of Nanjing including Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and a Qing Dynasty style bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple. (B/L/D)

Day 06 Yangtze River –Huangshan
7:00 am/5:00 pm shore excursion to Huangshan ("Yellow Mountain"). (Jiuhuashan or "Mountain of the Nine Lotuses" may be substituted if weather or road conditions do not permit a visit to Huangshan.) (B/L/D)

Day 07 Yangtze River –Wuhan
4:00 pm/7:00 pm shore excursion of Wuhan visiting the Hubei Provincial Museum(B/L/D)

Day 08 Yangtze River
Sailing through the Yangtze River (B/L/D)

Day 09 Yangtze River
7:30 am arrive Yichang; 8:00 am/9:30 am sail through Gezhou Dam; 1:00 pm/3:30 pm visit Three Gorges Dam site; 4:00 pm/8:00 pm sail through Three Gorges Dam ship lock (B/L/D)

Day 10 Yangtze River
Sail through Wu Gorge
9:00 am/2:00 pm excursion to Daning River Small Gorges(B/L/D)

Day 11 Yangtze River
8:30 am/12:00 noon shore excursion to Fengdu(B/L/D)

Day 12 Yangtze River /Chongqing
Around 8:30 am disembark at Chongqing. Visit Panda House, Stillwell Museum and Erling Park.  Overnight in Chongqing. (B/L/D)

Day 13 Chongqing/Beijing
Transfer to airport for your flight to Beijing. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. For dinner enjoy a traditional Beijing Duck banquet. (B/D)

Day 14 Beijing
Visit the Tian’anmen Square, the biggest public square in the world and Forbidden City, the vast complex of palaces, which was home to successive Emperors for more than 500 years. Included is admission to the living quarters, museum and jewelry sections.In the afternoon, enjoy a pedi-cab tour of Hutong – the ‘old city’ neighbourhoods of narrow alleyways and courtyard gardens, visit to Prince Gong’s Palace and the Drum Tower. After dinner, acrobatic show. (B/L/D)

Day 15 Beijing
Morning tour to the Great Wall, stretching almost 4,000 miles from the Pacific Ocean to the sands of Central Asia and befittingly crowned one of the ten wonders of the world. After lunch, visit Summer Palace, the largest and the best preserved of all imperial palace gardens, which boasts such delights as the famous Marble Boat and the ornately painted 'Long Corridor', then on to Beijing Zoo to see the lovely pandas. Day 16 Beijing
Morning tour to the Temple of Heaven, the 500 year old Temple houses altars on which sacrifices and offerings were laid to the gods in a glorious setting of gardens, tress and sculptures. Afternoon at leisure (B,L)

Day 17 Beijing/
Today you will have free time to go shopping or explore more of Beijing by yourself before transferred to airport for your flight home. (B)
