Board your flight for China today.

Day 02              / Beijing
Upon arrival you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel.  The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure as you accommodate yourself.

Day 03              Beijing             (B/L)
A full day excursion to the Great Wall, the largest and most well-known landmark in all of China.  After lunch, a drive to the Ming Tombs along the Sacred Way.  The giant marble figures and animals guard the tomb area for the deceased emperors of Ming Dynasty (1388-1644 AD).

Day 04              Beijing     (B/L/SD)
A morning tour of Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, and the Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City; the complex of imperial palaces home to the emperors of China for over 500 years during the Ming and Qing dynasties.  Some of the grand halls have been used as museums for collections of incredible Chinese treasures. After lunch you will be driven to visit the Summer Palace, a former summer resort for the royal family, where you will take a boat ride on Lake Kunming. This evening you will be treated to a delicious Beijing roasted duck dinner.

Day 05              Beijing / Xian         (B/L)
A morning visit to the Temple of Heaven, where the Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvest for many seasons.  It is the largest historical temple complex remaining in China today.  After lunch, board your flight to Xian, the great ancient capital and the eastern end of the Silk Road.  In the afternoon, you will have tour of the Ancient City Wall.

Day 06              Xian        (B/L)
The exciting day of sightseeing will include the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses at the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Qin Emperor, in addtion to the beautiful Bronze Chariots.  After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagonda, which was built in 652 AD.  It contains a large volume of Buddhist scriptures which were obtained from India by the erninent monk Xuanzang.  Remainder of day will be at your liesure..

Day 07              Xian / Chongqing       (B/L)
This morning, visit the Shanxi Provincial Museum where you will discover how Xian became the capital and cradle of Chinese culture.  After lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred to the airport for a brief flight to Chongqing, the incredible mountain city.

Day 08              Yangtze River    (B/L/D)
Navigate Qutang Gorge(8km), the third gorge of the Yangtze River.  Enjoy a shore excursion to the Ghost City and see the Fengdu and Shibaozhai Pogodas.

Day 09             Yangtze River    (B/L/D)
Sail through Wu Gorge adn the West section of the Xiling Gorge.  Shore excursion to the Shennong Lesser Gorge.

 Day 10              Yangtze River - Yichang/ Shanghai       (B/L)

Shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, also known as the "Big Dam".  Navigatie the east section of Xiling Gorge, the first gorge of the Yangtze.  Arrival in Yichang  After lunch, you will take a flight to Shanghai, the cosmopolitan, bustling metropolitan city of China.  You are free at your leisure for the remainder of the day.

Day 11              Shanghai                (B/L/D)
Your sightseeing this morning features a tour of the Yu Garden, the old area of the city and a stroll along the lively waterfront, known as the "Bund".  After lunch, a visit to the Jade Buddha Temple.  An acrobatic show will enliven your senses after dinner this evening 

Day 12              Shanghai / US           (B)
A leisure in the morning until your transfer to the airport for departure.

Extension Tour: 

Day 12              Shanghai / Hangzhou      (B/L/D)
Upon arrival in Hangzhou after a short transfer, you will visit the Lingyin Temple. After lunch, it will be time to board your cruise on the beautiful West Lake before going to Huagang Park to see the Red Carp. The afternoon wouldn’t be complete without a visit to a tea plantation where you can taste the tea as well as acquaint yourself with the ancient Chinese tea refining process. You will spend one night in Hangzhou.

Day 13              Hangzhou / Suzhou        (B/L/D)
A morning visit to the small historical town of Wuzhen, which is a great example of a typical water town, after which you will have board a leisurely cruise along its zigzag waterways. Lunch will be served before we board a coach to Suzhou, referred to as the “Venice of the East” because it was built around a network of canals and bridges which fan out from the large Grand Canal. Suzhou is also famous for its charming gardens and inland waterways.

Day 14              Shanghai / US       (B)
The morning will begin with a visit to Tiger Hill with its Cloud Rock Pagoda. The pagoda is the primary symbol of Suzhou. It leans at an angle larger then that of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. You will then visit the picturesque "Humble Administrator’s Garden", which is best-known garden in all of Suzhou. After lunch, we will make our way to the Panman ancient water gate, built 2,500 years ago. The next stop will be the Suzhou number one silk factory where you will witness step by step the production of the finest silk in China. In the afternoon you will board the coach to travel to China's largest city, Shanghai.

Day 15          Shanghai / US         (B)
Enjoy your time at your own leisure in Shanghai until you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back to US.
